A tented arch fingerprint is a type of fingerprint characterized by a pattern that slopes downward from one side and then upward on the other side, resembling a tent. It is a relatively rare fingerprint pattern, found in about 5% of the population. The tented arch pattern typically appears on fingers other than the thumb and index finger, most commonly on the middle and ring fingers. It is also known as a “marquee” or “inverted tented arch” fingerprint.
