Law Enforcement Presence (Lep): Enhancing Public Safety

LEP stands for Law Enforcement Presence, a measure of the level of law enforcement activity in an area. Entities with LEP of 8 to 10 include local police, sheriff’s offices, state police, youth centers, community policing groups, the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of Housing and Urban Development. These entities collaborate to maintain law enforcement, engage with communities, and enhance public safety through coordinated efforts and resource sharing.
