Döbereiner’s Triads: Atomic Mass Organization

Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner, a German chemist, was the first to organize elements based on increasing atomic mass. In the early 19th century, Döbereiner observed that certain elements exhibited similar chemical properties and could be grouped into sets of three, known as triads. Döbereiner arranged these triads in order of increasing atomic mass, demonstrating the trend of increasing atomic mass with increasing atomic number.
