Carb Icing: Causes And Prevention

Carb ice forms when moisture in the air condenses and freezes inside the carburetor venturi due to the rapid decrease in pressure and temperature as air passes through it. This happens when the carburetor air intake temperature is below the dew point temperature of the surrounding air, causing water vapor to condense and freeze.
